Adoniram Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No 552.

30th October 2015

If the parking itself around Liverpool Masonic Hall wasn’t scary enough at any time; Adoniram Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No 552 held their October meeting at the hall on the eve of Halloween!  The trick was not to get stuck in traffic on the M6 on the way to the meeting, (which was the fate of the RW PGM). The rest of us were treated to a first class team effort form the officers of the Lodge.
Tom Malow Worshipful Commander and Bro Barrie  Russell new elevated candidate.
The first treat of the evening was when the lodge voted to give W.Bro Bill Merry RAMGR honorary membership of the lodge. This was followed by a positive ballot for W.Bro Andy Whittle, (a P Cmdr.), to become a joining member of the lodge.

The next treat was an elevation ceremony.  The trick by the Worshipful Commander Bro Tom Marlow had been to share the ritual out among his team. The senior Deacon Bro Ian Elsby took the candidate Bro Barrie Russell around the lodge.  W.Bro Mike Winterbottom ProvRAMGR the senior warden gave the explanation of the working tools and the steps. The Immediate Past Commander W.Bro Peter Papworth gave the explanation of the signs. All three explanations were done with fluency and quality.   All in all it was an excellent team display.

After the elevation ceremony the lodge elected W.Bro Mike Winterbottom as their Worshipful Commander for the 2016/2017 season.
An enjoyable festive board followed, with some of those attending having extra helpings.  The RW PGM Keith Beardmore gave a humorous response to the toast.  The RW PGM welcomed Bro Barrie Russell to Royal Ark Mariner Masonary adding that he would like to see more Mark Master Masons join the Royal Ark Mariners degree.

We all wish Bro Russell a long and happy time at Adoniram Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners.
